Carolina Izzo is the Managing Director of the Art Conservation Company, Studio Carolina Izzo Ltd. After twenty years restoring works of art for major institutions in Italy, Carolina and her family moved to New Zealand in 2001. She worked for a number of years at the National Museum, Te Papa Tongarewa and now manages her own business specialised in Consultation and Conservation of Art & Heritage with studios in Wellington and Auckland.
Carolina is a Teaching Associate at Victoria University and in 2013, under the patronage of the Italian Embassy, she initiated a MOU (Sibyllam Field School) between the 'Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali' in Naples and Victoria University of Wellington. In 2016, she was awarded the Cavaliere della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Star of Italy), for her contribution to Heritage Conservation in New Zealand and the Sibyllam initiative.
Over the coming year, the Chamber will see growing opportunities that will stimulate the membership of the ICCNZ. Carolina is proud of her double citizenship and passionate about all endeavours to increase the collaboration and understanding between Italy and New Zealand. Her commitment as President of ICCNZ is to promote business opportunities and support entrepreneurship to increase ties between these two nations.
